“This legislation will push struggling American families off their last lifelines during the worst recession since the Great Depression just to give tax breaks to the super rich,” said Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) in a statement Friday morning.

Obama”s claimed when penning the recent “Tax Deal” that he was required to “sacrifice” the granting of budget busting tax breaks to those who earn more than one million/year in exchange for providing additional support for those who need it more, the unemployed.  The figure thrown around was 13 months.  This sacrifice was a big deal and one would expect would was received in return would also be a big deal.

So does this mean that the group of long term unemployed know as the “99 weekers” are get an additional 13 months?  Apparently not.  It is not all clear what Obama unemployment extension even means.  But there is little question of what the extension of the Bush tax cuts mean.

One may argue if  unemployment should  be extended beyond 99 weeks but it is hard to deny that the way the Tax Deal was sold to the public certainly gave the impression that the long term unemployed would receive 13 months of additional benefits.  Most 99′ers have not even figured out the truth yet.

And now of course the fully controlled news cycle had moved on to other issues.

Obama is a pure corporatist and servant of the super-rich.  He is deceitful beyond belief and continues to totally betray his supporters at every turn.  Those that call him spineless are letting off far too easily and totally misunderstand his nature and purpose.

And now that he has passed a slew of bills that with the exception of the repeal of DADT feed directly into corporation interests, have you noticed the MSM’s silly casting of Obama as the “Comeback Kid”?  To totally quash the insurrection in the house against the Tax bill lead by Bernie Sanders,  they are floating polls showing that most Democrats now support Obama.

The MSM has received their corporate marching orders:  Defend their bullet proof golden goose by discouraging a progressive challenger in 2012.

Incidentally, if the corporations were against the repeal of DADT, who thinks it would have happened?

Sure,  I get the whole redemption thing and believe in forgiveness as much as the next guy.  But whether  Micheal Vic should be forgiven for his incredibly cruel acts of animal torture and senseless killing is a philosophical  question and is not mine.

My question is why did Barack Obama choose to get involved?  Is multi millionaire Michael Vic such a now special person that he deserves a individual commendation from the president?  Or is the president just showboating, getting involved with winning athletes?

I don’t get it and I think it is in bad taste and senseless.

If you really believe in redemption, why not take action to institute it on a social level in a manner which could actually make a difference for the American people such as reducing crime.  After all, that is what you are being paid for.

When a convicted felon has served his time, he has fully paid his debt to society.  But under current practice, the criminal record of such a person is made available to all prospective employees and may be used to reject the applicant.

So how is a released felon supposed to survive economically in the real world if because of his criminal record he is unable to get a job other then perhaps serving burgers at Micky D’s.  Is the inability of  released felons to get a real job for the the rest their lives  a big factor in criminal recidivism ?  Is it inhumane?  You bet.

But of course preventing employers from checking on criminal past in during hiring practices would never pass muster with the corporate boards would it Mr. Obama?  So instead, why not spend your time finding another fallen athlete who as committed heinous acts and has gotten his act together enough to go make a couple of hundred million more dollars to glad hand with?
